12 Surya Namaskar Steps

12 Surya Namaskar Steps You Should Practice Every Morning To Kill That Fat

12 Surya Namskar Steps
12 Surya Namskar Steps

Sun Salutation is considered a complete body workout. Yoga experts say that doing 12 sets of Surya Namaskar translates into doing 288 powerful yoga poses in a span of 12 to 15 minutes.

A workout for ‘busy bees’

Facing a time crunch? Want to feel fit but don’t know how? Welcome to the world of Surya Namaskar. Literally translated as sun salutation, Surya Namaskar comprises a sequence of 12 yoga postures. The best part about Sun Salutation is that it works well for those ‘super busy’ people who often complain about not being able to do yoga because of a time crunch. Doing at least 12 sets of Sun Salutation, preferably at sunrise, at a fast pace provides a good cardiovascular workout. If done at a slower pace, these postures help tone the muscles and can be relaxing and meditative. Moreover, it allows you to enjoy the stretch and makes the body more flexible

An exercise in itself

Sun Salutation forms an excellent link between warm-ups and intense yoga postures. Start your early morning yoga routine with some warm-up stretches to ease out body stiffness. You can then do a few rounds of Sun Salutation to help increase body flexibility and also prepare the body to stretch more during the intense yoga posture sequence.

Why Sun Salutation is good for you?

But that’s not all. Regular practice of Sun Salutation offers a lot of interesting benefits for every part of the body. These powerful yoga poses have a great impact on the heart, liver, intestine, stomach, chest, throat, and legs – the whole body from top to bottom. It purifies the blood and improves blood circulation throughout the body and ensures proper functioning of the stomach, bowel, and nerve centres. Practicing Sun Salutation daily helps balance the three constitutions - Vata, Pitta and Kapha - that the body is made up of.

7 Actors Who Turned Down Brand

7 Actors Who Turned Down Brand Endorsements When It Went Against Their Principles

While Bollywood actors have had no issues in endorsing fairness cream brands, Anushka Sharma is an actress who would like to make a clear exception. "I would not endorse products that propagate racist and sexiest (beliefs)....and propagate social taboo. I don't want to endorse products that propagate fair skin and all. I will not propagate anything that says this is right or wrong," Anushka revealed in a press event.
However, Anushka is not the only actor in Bollywood who has declined a brand offer. Take a look at 7 others.

1. Randeep Hooda

Randeep Hooda

Randeep Hooda had clearly mentioned in the media that, "It's a colonial hangover to be fair. India, as a country, has an obsession with fairness, whereas the entire world is lying under the sun and getting a tan. I think men should be tall, dark and handsome and not tall, fair and handsome." Respect for you, Randeep!

2. Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut

There was buzz recently that Kangana Ranaut was offered a whopping Rs 2 crore deal for endorsing a fairness cream. Kangana did not say yes to the offer. Instead she spoke to the media and said "Ever since I was a kid, I have never understood the concept of fairness. Especially, in such a case, as a celebrity, what kind of an example would I be setting for younger people? I have no regrets about turning this offer down. As a public figure, I have responsibilities."!

3. Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor has declined the offer to endorse a fairness cream and he stated that such products do nothing but deepen racist stereotypes, reiterating that such products only make racist stereotypes stronger than ever in the Indian mindset. Well said, Ranbir!

4. Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan

Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist turned down a luxury car endorsement which could have easily fetched him a 'few crores'. According to a media source, "Aamir only wants to work on ads that are socially relevant. He is rumoured to have cancelled ad deals amounting to a few crores. He did not sign up for it as it didn’t come under the umbrella of social issues."

5. Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan

Actor Amitabh Bachchan backed out and stopped endorsing a cola brand after he revealed his confrontation with a school-girl who was puzzled as to why a megastar like him promoted the soft drink brand her teacher called  'poison'. Big B also requested other celebrities to go through proper due diligence before endorsing brands. Bachchan was on a declining spree after that as he turned down another offer from a TV brand because the content was related to dowry.

6. John Abraham

John Abraham

Brands have approached John time and again for endorsements but he has been honest in choosing the brands. He has clearly stated that he will never endorse any tobacco or alcohol-related products.

7. Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar

Actor Akshay Kumar turned down an offer from a paan masala brand even when the offer had some 'crores' attached to it. Akshay Kumar is a teetotaler in real life but his gesture and thoughtfulness of not endorsing anything for money is definitely commendable.

11 Things Productive People Do On

11 Things Productive People Do On Their Smartphones

We tend to waste time on our smartphones by taking selfies, mindlessly browsing social media sites and crowding the phone's space by installing useless apps that keep lying on our screens for no reason. However, it’s different with productive people. As they hate clutter and want to utilise their time to the fullest, they use their smartphone differently. Here's how...

1. They listen to podcasts

Productive people explore podcasts and lend them a ear because they are informative and offer a wide discussion ranging from fields like marketing to politics and religion. They take time out of their busy schedules to hear podcasts of people they like to listen to.

2. They save articles and read them later

People who don’t like to waste time on long commutes, save long articles and then read them during their journey. Apps like Flipboard, and Pocket allow their users to read saved articles later, even when they are offline.

3. They use Google Maps

Productive people have the knack of using Google maps to find out new places. They don’t rely on people and their drivers to direct them to a particular destination they want to reach.

4. They read the news

Gone are the days when people assembled on their couches for their favourite news segments to appear on TV.  Getting all the ‘dope’ on the phone is much easier and it's quick too.

5. They use Evernote

The app will help you organise and plan your schedule. You can jot down your ideas, give yourself a deadline and tick things off from your to-do list.

6. They keep a track of their daily physical activity

Productive people are fitness conscious and keep a close watch on their calorie intake, and calorie burn, with their phones.

7. They get rid of unwanted apps

We generally have the habit of crowding our phones with apps, even when we don’t frequently use them. But with productive people, it’s not the same. They are very careful about using the space on their phones.

8. They limit their social networking on their phone

They don’t spend much time tweeting and liking pictures on social media.

9. They use their phone camera to its full potential

Productive people use their phone’s camera to its full potential. They understand all the features and click some really great shots on their phones.

10. They manage their mails efficiently

Most of their work is done on emails as they are swift on reverting.

11. They know when to switch it off

Productive people aren’t slaves to their phones. They know when to keep the phones away and have a meaningful conversation with their loved ones.

Trump's delegate hunter signals aggressive push

Trump's delegate hunter signals aggressive push

Donald Trump's revamped campaign figures to be just as aggressive as his previous version, especially when it comes to securing convention delegates — an effort led by a veteran Republican strategist known for playing hardball politics himself.

Paul Manafort, whose convention experience extends back to the Ford-Reagan battle royal of 1976, has already accused primary rival Ted Cruz and his team of "Gestapo tactics" in rounding up delegates, though he predicted Trump would prevail in the end.

Cruz and his supporters have "taken an approach to some of the county conventions, where they can (do) scorch earth policy and don't care about the party," Manafort said on NBC's Meet the Press. "If they don't get what they want, they blow it up."

After being shut out of delegates during a weekend convention in Colorado, Trump accused Republicans in the state and elsewhere of operating a "corrupt" system that is denying the wishes of the many voters who have backed him.

Cruz, Trump, Kasich scrounge for GOP convention delegates

Appearing Monday on Fox & Friends, Trump said that "I’m winning the votes by millions of votes but the system is rigged — it’s crooked."

Cruz aides said they have simply out-organized Trump at the ground level, where actual delegates are selected. Spokeswoman Alice Stewart said Cruz's team has earned its success by building "a superior organization" and "working within the process and rules that have been established."

Trump hired Manafort in part to address that issue, banking on his four decades of experience with political conventions.

Manafort played a role in the last competitive political convention, working in 1976 to hold President Ford's delegates against conservative challenger Ronald Reagan. Four years later, he worked on Reagan's triumphant presidential campaign

After Reagan's victory, Manafort became a founding partner of one of the most influential consulting and lobbying firms in political history: Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly. From congressional campaigns to legislative fights, the firm became involved in many of the biggest political battles of the Reagan and George H.W. Bush presidencies.

The "Stone" in the title was Roger Stone, a longtime friend and ally of Trump. The firm also employed Lee Atwater, the famously aggressive strategist for Bush's victorious campaign in 1988.

"They played hardball, but this is a hardball town," said Republican strategist Rich Galen. "If you needed gunslingers, they knew how to shoot."

Another name partner, Charles Black, said "we were pretty good at winning campaigns" and "we never did anything below the belt" in working for clients.

"You've got to be on offense in political campaigns," Black said. "Someone is rising and someone is falling all the time."

16 questions and answers about the 2016 GOP delegate fight

Black, who is now backing Ohio Gov. John Kasich's presidential campaign, praised Manafort's organizing skills, but said he is coming in pretty late to help Trump obtain the delegates he needs.

Like Cruz, Kasich is working to block the New York businessman from winning the required majority of convention delegates — 1,237 — to claim the Republican presidential nomination on the first ballot at the July convention in Cleveland. Delegates gradually become unbound on subsequent ballots, enabling them to back other candidates.

Former Minnesota congressman Vin Weber, who also backs Kasich, said Manafort is a friend and a "first rate" hire, but he is trying to transform a relatively small Trump campaign organization that has not been designed for a convention fight.

"Paul has got to put all this together at once," said Weber, now a partner with Mercury public affairs.

Weber also chuckled at the notion that Manafort would accuse the Cruz campaign of underhanded tactics: "If anybody were to ruthlessly exploit the rules — and it was to their advantage — it would be Paul."

Kasich has also accused the Cruz campaign of inappropriate delegate tactics.

The battle to deny Donald Trump the GOP nomination: How '2nd primary' for delegates works

In announcing Manafort's appointment, Trump said "the nomination process has reached a point that requires someone familiar with the complexities involved in the final stages."

While Trump has won the most primaries and caucuses this election season, votes in and of themselves do not translate directly to delegates. Each state has its own rules for delegate selection, and how they are bound, or not bound, to certain candidates.

That hasn't made much difference in past years because candidates have had their nominations wrapped up well before the conventions. This year, every delegate counts as Trump tries to work his way toward 1,237.

Trump currently has 743 delegates to Cruz's 545, according to the Associated Press. But the businessman has less than half the total awarded so far; Kasich has 143 delegates, while former candidate Marco Rubio still controls 171.

Despite that, Manafort has said he expects Trump to be the presumptive nominee by mid-May.

"It's the process that matters," Manafort told NBC. "If you know how to use the process, the support is there."

Here’s The Secret Behind

Here’s The Secret Behind Anant Ambani’s Stunning Weight Loss!

Anant Ambani has left everybody stunned with his transformation. His grandfather, the legendary Dhirubhai Ambani, would have been proud of him for living up to his belief that nothing is impossible if one focuses on it.

He lost weight the hard way – through diet and exercise.

The youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani had made a self-commitment one-and-a-half years ago — to fight a medicine-induced obesity and come out victorious. He has lost a staggering 108 kilos in less than 18 months. As he was determined to lose weight in the most natural and safest way possible, he followed a strict diet and exercised for five-six hours every day.
His daily exercise regimen included a 21-km walk, followed by yoga, weight training, functional training and high-intensity cardio exercises. He stuck to a zero-sugar, low-carb diet along with adequate fat and protein.

His mother, Nita Ambani, is very proud.

Nita M Ambani, his mother, is most pleased about her son's accomplishment. Having seen him through this journey, working hard and sweating it out daily for more than 500 days, she is floored by her son's dedication to his own health. The determination and will power that he has shown in fighting and conquering the most daunting challenge is an inspiration for all, including herself, said the proud mother.

His obesity was caused by the medication he took for his chronic asthma.

As a child, he suffered from chronic asthma and the strong medication led to his weight gain. Doctors had warned that losing weight by natural means would be an uphill task. But he was determined to get fit by his 21st birthday.
An animal lover and wildlife enthusiast, the journey of Anant, who is currently a junior at Brown University in the US, is nothing short of inspirational. It is a reminder that with hard work, dedication and focus, anything is possible.

Is Anant Ambani’s Drastic Weight Loss

Is Anant Ambani’s Drastic Weight Loss A Good Idea Or Not?

Anant Ambani’s weight loss has become a matter of national importance. As if somehow for some reason everything troubling going on in India from hit-and-run deaths to droughts mattered just a little bit less this week.
The 22-year-old son of India’s largest business house and richest man on the planet managed to lose 108 kgs in 18 months. The bigger, more mind boggling thing is that he lost 40 kgs in a month – almost 1and kg  300 gms everyday – that can’t be healthy. Or can it?

Is it possible to lose 40 kgs in a month without surgery?

Mother Ambani will have you believe it is and her son did it all the natural way, following a strict diet schedule and exercising regularly and rigorously. Jr Ambani exercised for almost five to six hours a day.

Is it healthy?

A latest study from the University of Florida said that losing weight quickly in the early stages of a weight loss program can be more helpful. The researchers found that who lost weight quickly were able to achieve significant weight loss in 18 months than those who lost weight at slower rate.
Also when you can see and feel the results of your efforts quickly, it helps to keep you encouraged.

If you’ve lose weight so drastically, can you maintain it?

Yes you can!
If you have lost weight by starving, or crash diets- it is more likely all the weight that you have lost in very less time will come right back just as quickly. But if you maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly then you can definitely maintain the weight.

Why is celebrating drastic weight loss not fat shaming?

Dropping the pounds quickly may give you a kick to loose weight further and to stick to your weight-loss plan. Making people feel bad about their weight does not make them loose weight at all or promote healthy changes to a person’s lifestyle, infact it does quite reverse.

How do you keep yourself from putting the weight back on?

Weight maintenance is something that baffles a lot of people. They love with this fear that if they don’t continue to work out as hard and carefully, they will gain their weight back. This is not true actually. According to the experts you do need to count calories, eat healthy food, and continue to exercise, but you don’t have to be rigorous about it.
For weight management, you just need to eat the same amount of calories you are burning — rather than create a calorie shortfall.

Indian Players Also Involved

Indian Players Also Involved In Banning Harsha Bhogle From Commentary During IPL 9

A day after Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to dump Harsha Bhogle as a TV commentator met with push-back from cricket aficionados, it is now learnt that Indian players had a crucial role in the entire episode.
hb
AFP
The mandarins in BCCI would want one to believe that it was Amitabh Bachchan's none-too flattering tweet about Indian commentators - purportedly aimed at Bhogle - was a reflection of public opinion and the real reason for his ouster.
The 54-year-old articulate commentator, with 20 years of broadcast experience, had apparently earned the ire of the Indian team and its management with his often frank comments and observations. The impression that has gained credence over a period of time is that he was critical of Team India's policies, pitch policy in particular - be it in the Tests or recent World Twenty20; several players seem to have gone with their grouse against Bhogle to the BCCI bosses.
HB

His critical views may not be all that unfair or unreasonable but certainly not politically correct in the context of the BCCI. The BCCI-contracted commentators (in the past) have always maintained that they have never got instructions what to say or not during commentary but there are always a few no-go zones - particularly about the selection policy, pitch policy, captaincy, BCCI politics etc - and it is not clear at what point Harsha crossed that line. That he often posts comments on Twitter during commentary also seems to have gone against him.
Mumbai Mirror spoke to two members of the recent Indian team and they admitted that there were discussions about his commentary in the dressing room meetings although they claimed ignorance of a formal complaint having been filed against him at any stage. Neither of them, of course, would come on record.
The indication of Team India's impressions is reflected in an MS Dhoni re-tweet of Bachchan's March 23 post which read: T2184- With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time. Dhoni retweeted that with: "Nothing to add."
hb
PTI
It is said that all commentary and umpiring postings for the IPL were vetted by Anurag Thakur but it is unlikely that the BCCI secretary was the initiator of this decision.
It looks like it's a collective decision of the BCCI top brass who have taken the inputs from the current players into consideration.
Harsha chose not to comment on the controversy but maintained that he doesn't know why he is dropped from the IPL commentary panel.
Recently, the BCCI changed its policy of handing long-term contracts to the commentators and has decided to hire them on a series-by-series basis and the information is that Harsha is likely to be back for the next assignment.

Prosecutor: Brussels group initially planned to hit France

Prosecutor: Brussels group initially planned to hit France

(Photo: Belgian Federal Police)

A police operation was under way on Saturday in the Brussels district of Etterbeek after Belgian officials confirmed a sixth arrest over suspected links to the March 22 Brussels bombings. Five others were arrested on Friday. (April 9) AP

The group responsible for the deadly bombings in Brussels had initially planned to attack France, Belgium's federal prosecutor said Sunday.
The suspects were "surprised by the speed of the progress in the ongoing investigation" and decided to attack Brussels instead, the office said in a statement. The alleged organizers of the Brussels attacks were part of the same group behind the Paris massacre in November, federal prosecutors said.
The statements from prosecutors come after the arrest of Mohamed Abrini, who was described as the "man in the hat" or the "man in white." captured on surveillance footage with the two suicide bombers at Brussels Airport, RTBF reported. Abrini and three others were charged with "terrorist murders" and conducting the "activities of a terrorist group" in connection with the Brussels attacks.

Right wing demonstrators protest at a memorial site at the Place de la Bourse in Brussels.

The suicide bombers killed 16 people at Brussels Airport the morning of March 22, and another blast claimed the lives of another 16 at a city subway station.

Abrini confessed he was the "man in the hat" seen in the surveillance footage, Belgian prosecutors said.

The other suspects were identified as Osama Krayem, Herve B. M. and Bilal E. M. Krayem, who is known to have left the Swedish city of Malmo to fight in Syria.

Investigators found links between the group behind Brussels attacks and the one that killed 130 in Paris Nov. 13. Authorities said that a series of raids and arrests leading up to the Brussels attack, notably the arrest of key suspect Salah Abdeslam on March 18, prompted the suspects to change course and speed up the plan.

Several connections surfaced involving Abrini. Surveillance footage shows Abrini driving Abdeslam to Paris two days before the deadly rampage. Abdeslam's arrest occurred four days before the Brussels explosions.

Authorities said Abrini grew up with Abdeslam and his brother, Brahim Abdeslam, both suspects in the Paris attacks. They believe he also knew Abdelhamid Abbaoud, the Paris attackers' ringleader.

Brahim Abdeslam blew himself up in the Paris bombings. Abbaoud died in a police raid shortly after the attacks.

Abrini's fingerprints and DNA were found in a car used in Paris, as well as an apartment in a Brussels neighborhood that was used by the airport bombers.

Abrini was also believed to have traveled to Syria, where his younger brother died in 2014 in the Islamic State’s Francophone brigade.

Obama to Fox News: No politics in Hillary Clinton email investigation

Obama to Fox News: No politics in Hillary Clinton email investigation

President Obama said Hillary Clinton exhibited "carelessness" in handling emails, but defended his former secretary of State and "guaranteed" that politics will not influence an ongoing investigation of her, in an appearance on Fox News Sunday.

"I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI — not just in this case, but in any case," Obama said in the pre-taped interview that broadcast Sunday.

While critics say Clinton's private email system could have been used to illegally transmit classified information, exposing it to hackers, Obama described her as an "outstanding" secretary of State — though he questioned her use of private email.

"What I’ve also said is that — and she has acknowledged — that there’s a carelessness, in terms of managing emails, that she has owned, and she recognizes," Obama told Fox News.

Obama said he could not comment in detail about the Clinton investigation because it is ongoing, but said he is confident that the institutions of the Justice Department and FBI are going by the book.

Clinton, who is battling Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination, said she is cooperating with investigations, and that there is no chance of her being indicted.

In his Fox News Sunday interview, his first on the program as president, Obama also suggested that over-classification may be at play, and that some of the emails traced to Clinton should not have had high classification.

While there is "top-secret" information that should not be shared, Obama said there is also material "being presented to the president or the secretary of State, that you might not want on the transom, or going out over the wire, but is basically stuff that you could get in open-source."

Obama also said, "I continue to believe that she has not jeopardized America’s national security."

During the interview taped during his recent visit to Chicago, Obama also said:

• Proposals by Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz will undermine national security.

Saying the nation should stand by its laws and values in the fight against the Islamic State, Obama criticized Cruz's proposal to "carpet bomb" Islamic State positions and Trump's plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States until the terrorism problem is addressed.

"We have to make sure that what we do doesn’t end up being counterproductive," Obama said, adding: "Our approach has to be smart."

• His "number one job is to protect the American people," and his "number one priority" is to defeat the Islamic State.

Disputing claims by Trump, Cruz and other Republicans that he is not taking the terrorist threat seriously enough, Obama said that "there isn’t a president who’s taken more terrorists off the field than me, over the last seven-and-a-half years."

• If necessary, he will stick with Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland until the end of his term in January, regardless of whether Clinton or a Republican wins the presidential election in November.

Again demanding that the Republican Senate vote as soon as possible on Garland's nomination, Obama said that "as more senators meet with him, I think they will recognize the qualities" of the current appeals court judge.

• He understands the frustrations with government expressed by supporters of Trump and Sanders, among other protest candidates.

While the economy is improving, Obama said the nation is "still shell-shocked" from the financial meltdown of 2007 and 2008. Many people lost their homes, jobs, and savings, the president told Fox News Sunday, "and they still don’t fully know how that happened, and was the system fixed in a way that they can have confidence in."

• His best day in office was the congressional vote approving his health care bill, while the worst was traveling to Newtown, Conn., after the mass shooting at an elementary school.

His biggest accomplishment? "Saving the economy from a Great Depression."

Worst mistake? "Probably failing to plan for the day after ... in intervening in Libya."

When he leaves office in January, Obama said the thing he will miss the most — "other than Air Force One" — is "the breadth of interactions" he has with the American people.

"When you are president, you meet people from every walk of life, every region," he said. "And it gives you a unique appreciation for this unbelievable country of ours."
